Is
your spirit screaming for recognition and acknowledgement
of its desire to help you move towards your full potential?
Have you accepted that each of us
has a part to play in the creation of healthier communities
for ourselves and our children, but you don't know exactly
where to start?
These are some of the key
questions that led to my personal search for Rafala's
Place. Like so many others these days, I realized that
before I could see the path ahead I had to stop and
reconnect with my own spirit first. My central question
was "Where is that space in the Universe that my
life was intended to occupy?" That space where
my spirit shines because it is moving inside of its
mission. As soon as I articulated this question, doors
opened and I found my life surrounded by kindred spirits
willing and eager to support me in the acknowledgement
of that special place that my spirit had chosen.
As
a sculptor, public artist, educator, community activist,
facilitator and arts administrator, I have been dedicated
to the creation and construction of works of art in
public and/or private spaces that
offer opportunities for community enjoyment
invite active participation in the creation process
create spaces in which the sacred can occur
Over the years I have come
to appreciate how precious it is to come upon a space
in our hectic world that offers a respite for the spirit.
Many of us work, move and live in spaces that often
separate and isolate us from ourselves and each other.
Ultimately, we are going to have to deal with the need
to invest in the care and feeding of the spirit if we
are to have a truly healthy society.
